29th - 30th November 2017
The “SPS IPC Drives” exhibition is the leading trade fair for electrical automation and was held in Nuremberg between the 29th - 30th November 2017. Bernstein used this event to present their latest development, a security sensor with an IO-Link interface, known as “Safety RFID”.
The SRF (Safety RFID) is a contactless security sensor for monitoring doors and valves in accordance with the Machinery Directive. These are just some of the distinguishing features of its innovative diagnostic system. The data from a sensor chain is collected in a diagnostic device and then transferred to a control system by means of the IO-Link. This therefore enables machine manufacturers and operators to optimise processes and save costs, for example by means of prognostic maintenance. In order to keep the costs associated with the necessary programming for evaluation of the diagnostic data as low as possible, functional blocks have been developed for the control system and are being made available to the user.
RAUTEC was able to bring their experience in the field of PLC development to the trade fair in the development of the interface and the functional blocks, as well as the configuration and display shown on the operator panel.
